Subject Evidence Eliminator Date: Wed, 20 Feb 2002 From: Paul To:Dear Mr. Green,
My name is Paul [deleted] and I live and work in [deleted]. While searching for the best way to and install my new hard drive, I came across a page that gave me some pretty simple info concerning this subject but in addition there was a button for seeing hot babes(porno) what ever. I was curious as to why something like this would be on a technical page, I'm not trying to say I never look at porn pages, but this particular time I was more curious as to why something like this would be on a technical page. So I clicked the button.
Well to make a long story short, now everytime I click on my internet connection icon, I now get the following pages making statments like.
Page 1) "You're in Serious Trouble. Do not let your family see personal internet visits or the XXX porno on your computer. etc.,etc.."
Page 2) " 401 Browser Warning-Please Wait Your ISP is under investigation Your ISP "NE" has handed over all the info. Your computer is etc., etc.,
Click here now for urgent help to stop this investigation."To frank Mr. Green, this made me extremely angry. I am usually pretty calm about matters like this, but this strikes me as close to extortion or black mail, hence I sent them a pretty nasty e-mail. After reading your page I am convinced that I would like to sue them. Them I'm assuming is Robin Hood Software.
Not only did they seem to threaten me but now I have to fiddle with my computer to remove what they have implanted. I don't speak [oriental language] but I do use a [oriental] OS, which makes it very difficult.
I really hate this kind of manipulation and I agree, these guys are scum bags and basically they just really pissed me off.
Sorry for the language. You should have seen the e-mail I sent them.
Kind regards, PaulDon't know what to say, Paul. I agree.
